<p>When I moved to Brooklyn from my parents' house, I was given a money tree, Richie. My Aries sister said, "As the tree grows, so does your abundance." Determined not to repeat past plant neglect, I committed to Richie's growth, seeing it as a parallel to my own journey in the bustling city.</p> <p>Amid the pandemic, I graduated from the University of Maryland, grieving losses and feeling a sense of urgency for change. I landed at Media.Monks as an account coordinator, where Richie and I flourished. While I actively tended to Richie's needs, I faced personal challenges, struggling with confidence and imposter syndrome despite delivering major campaigns for OREO US &amp; CA.</p> <p>Realizing I needed to nourish my own growth, I embraced discomfort, learning to leverage resources and foster stronger connections. Transitioning to a manager role for BET &amp; VH1, I thrived on challenges, honing leadership skills and fostering connections with clients and teammates.&nbsp;</p> <p>I've immersed myself in our company culture, driving social and cultural initiatives, participating in committees, and advancing my skills through development programs. Beyond work, I freelance for Paper Therapy, a wellness initiative and participate in a minority led run club.&nbsp;</p> <p>I see the Diversity Collective as a new opportunity for growth, where I can leverage my evolving leadership skills to hound in on positive change and innovation. Just as Richie stretches its branches, I am ready to expand with Cannes Can: Diversity Collective.</p>
