However, I was blessed to learn early in my career that mentorship, and servant leadership are integral building blocks to growing within the industry. </span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Collective organizations such as ADCOLOR and Marcus Graham Project, provided me with such a strong foundation by demonstrating the importance of lifting as we climb. These networks of mentors saw something in me worth cultivating at an early stage, and equipped me with the tools to do some of my best work. As a result, I’ve made it a mission of mine to be committed to servant leadership and advocating for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. </span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">As an Account Supervisor, you would think my role is to just simply aid in our clients’ business objectives; But I’ve come to learn that it goes far beyond any job description. My role is to serve as a dot connector to help create dynamic narratives that amplify BIPOC voices— which means pushing to get the right people in the door and in conversations where they not only produce good work, but they thrive! </span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Moreover, it also means being an advocate and reaching back. Whether it’s serving as an ADCOLOR ambassador and ushering in a new group of FUTURES to guide them through programming, or mentoring fellow Marcus Graham Project interns through agency workshops, I’ve come to learn that my most fulfilling work stems from seeing their growth and development. It’s my duty to use my time and talents to be of service to others — just as it was done for me. </span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It’s the likes of people such as Adrienne C Smith, Tiffany R. Warren, & Lincoln Stephens that are catalysts for servant leadership in this industry. I’m proud to stand on the shoulders of these pioneers who refuse to grow weary in their own well doing. </span></p>
