Aakriti Goel
Director of Strategic Communication
About

Born and raised in India, Aakriti understood the value of punching above her weight. A curious child, she grew up asking why and watching more ads than TV. Dressing up as a TV commentator to interview her mom as she cooked or going around the house observing people and reporting about them- she was born to be in communication. Just that she didn't know it yet. Academically brilliant, she topped all her classes and got admission into one of India's top finance and commerce colleges. Her Oh Jesus moment came when she landed a job with a finance company after completing college. Post that, she went ahead to study communications at India's only advertising college and loved every second. After she interned at an ad agency in her first year of post grad, she knew advertising had her heart.

She began her branding journey with a small boutique design and semiotic firm. And went ahead to not only strategically grow it but also helped open a regional branch. She worked across APAC on multiple categories like F&B, CPG amongst others. She then moved to Grey Group to lead the oral care business for GSK. As a lead planner on that business, she helped Sensodyne grow and become the number one toothpaste. Her work also led her to be invited to the global GSK conference at Germany. After Grey, she moved as a lead planner to Ogilvy India, where she handled multiple global and regional businesses like Pernod Ricard, Mini Cooper, Nestle to name a few. She got married in 2017 and moved to the US with Ogilvy Chicago. Currently, she is leading the strategy for SCJ and also dabbling with Coke. She stays in Chicago with her 18 month old daughter and husband. When she is not thinking about consumer insights, you can catch her trying to get ready to run a marathon
