About

Storyteller, writer, marketer, Dreamer, content creator, consultant, Taurus. Those are a few words that describe me.

This cowboy was born in Mexico, then grew up in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX.

My journey as a storyteller began one evening while binge watching Scandal, my new favorite show. Two seasons in and I wanted to be Olivia Pope when I grew up. Crisis management and being a "Fixer" sounded like thrilling careers, so I enrolled in college to study Public Relations.

I quickly learned how broad a career in PR could be. I don't think crises were necessarily what I liked about Olivia Pope's job; what made the job exciting was the story she was creating or "fixing."

As a social media manager, I get to create stories daily and the thrill remains. Social is turned on 24/7 and several crises can happen throughout a day. When managing Target's social media during the 2020 US protests, I experienced firsthand how powerful of a tool it really is. Non-reaction is as loud as a reaction and choosing between the two can make you break a sweat.

Working with pharmaceutical brands, to consumer brands, to entertainment clients, to non-profits, to political organizations, I am grateful to have been able to develop my skills in diverse settings and have been able to apply my knowledge across all social channels. I'm particularly excited when my work focuses on community initiatives and uplifts unheard voices. At HOORAE, we have an incubator program for Black creators that demonstrates how a company can make meaningful collaborations, uplift a communtiy, and create space for others to tell their story.

I look forward to continuing to learn, applying my skills and becoming Olivia Pope one day.
