With a name like Fatima Fumni Odebisi you automatically stand out in many spaces. People stumble through the pronunciation or even avoid saying hi altogether to not have to say your name. But I refused to remain in the background. So what used to be the awkwardness of navigating connecting with others as a wallflower became the grounds for my passion turned into action: listening to one's story, connecting them with others, and creating spaces where they feel valued and can make a difference.    Whether it is working to bring inclusive perspectives into campaigns, collecting/analyzing data to find its connected layers, creating employee resource groups to foster community, or designing magazines and art that reflect diverse people, I flourish when I am able to not only actively listen to other’s journeys but seek out stories and transform those conversations into authentic projects and programming.    As a story curator, teller, and amplifier my work roots itself in helping others share their passions and create impactful work. This is my constant motivation. So now, when navigating new spaces, I always take the first step to connect and say, “Hi my name is Fatima Fumni Odebisi” and begin a relationship that leads to finding innovative ways to bring forth people’s stories.
