Her journey thus far has been marked by resilience, boldness, and a commitment to empowering others.

Growing up, Akosua learned to type on Microsoft Word and honed her math skills through online games (Reader Rabbit, Finding Nemo etc). Access to technology played a pivotal role in her education. When she moved to the United States for university, she encountered a shift from the communal upbringing she knew in Ghana and Botswana to a more individualistic environment. Despite the challenges, she built a new community of friends and extended family, with unwavering support from her loved ones back home.

Akosua’s career path wasn’t linear. After facing over 200 rejections as an international student seeking internships, she shared her struggles on LinkedIn. The response was overwhelming—recruiters/leaders praised her boldness, and other job seekers connected with her. This experience kick-started her journey at Microsoft, where she joined as an intern in 2018. Akosua chose Microsoft because the company’s mission aligned with her values: empowering others.

Today, serves Akosua as a Senior Marketing Leader who oversees Global Marketing Communications and Brand Strategy for Microsoft’s Global AI Tour and leads Content Creator Programs for Microsoft Flagship events.

Akosua designed the marketing communications and brand strategy for the AI Tour all up for. She is responsible for garnering interest and driving registrations for the tour and has done so successfully. She is an inspirational woman making strides in her field and is known by all at Microsoft, including senior leaders + CEO as someone who gets things done and does so with sunshine and flare.

She believes in the Southern African concept of “Ubuntu”—“I am, because of who we are.” Akosua’s commitment to community, empathy, and uplifting others she continues to uplift many through platforms offline through keynote speaking, panels and hosting and online through platforms such as LinkedIn, TikTok and Instagram and her content has reached 300 million+ people to date, globally. Akosua continues to champion inclusion, growth, and the power of shared experiences in communities both near and far with her personal mission being "bridging gaps between access and opportunity".

Akosua would make an incredible CC:DC Ambassador for 2025.
