About

What comes to your mind when you think of a pirate? Probably a person, running around, stealing treasure and creating havoc. But pirates were really just a band of people who were radical and creative in their thinking. They had their own sense of identity and built a community based on sheer trust. Had it not been for Aaliyah’s Black history professor in college, she wouldn’t have understood the importance of delving deep. It was the very first time she was rewarded for being curious. This quest for curiosity led her from Portland, OR to Philadelphia, PA to where she is now based Chicago, IL.

Chicago is where she honed her thinker and maker and where she developed a renewed sense of self, and on a whim, she applied for an internship at Ogilvy Chicago. The rest is history, pun intended. Currently, she am an Art Director, without a traditional background in art, pursuing her dream and still being rewarded for being curious. She work on brands like Chobani, Glade, and the Chicago International Film Festival.
