Our agency works with some of the biggest brands in the country as well as international brands from the US like Coke and Nivea.</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">My passion for challenging the status quo stems from the lack of representation in Brazil's media. Brazil's population is made up of a majority of Black and mixed-race individuals (57%), yet the media portrays a different image. This is why I co-founded SILVA, a creative agency that embraces the diversity and richness of Brazil and its people.</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">SILVA is more than just a business venture; it's a reflection of my roots. I was born and raised in a slum (known as a 'favela') in Rio de Janeiro, where my parents instilled in me the importance of education. They were Black and poor, yet they never let their struggles define them. They always encouraged me to strive for more and to reach for my dreams.</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I took their advice to heart and pursued my studies in a renowned educational institution, both in Brazil and abroad. I earned a postgraduate degree from an international institution and worked with various brands and civil society institutions. These experiences not only strengthened my connection to communication but also fueled my desire to do things differently.</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">SILVA represents my belief in the power of diversity and the potential it holds. Our team is composed of diverse individuals, each with their unique experiences and perspectives. We work to connect emerging voices of people in different areas of Brazil, bringing their stories to life in a creative and strategic way. Our approach has earned us a nomination for the Caboré, the most prestigious advertising award in Brazil.</span></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"> </p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I believe we need to challenge the status quo and create a more inclusive world. That is why I applied to participate in CC:DC 2024. I want to connect with like-minded individuals, share my experiences, listen and learn from others. At Inkwell Beach, I want to bring a piece of me, Rio de Janeiro, all the people I've worked with, my mother, my father, and Brazil.</span></p> <p> </p>
