<p>My story is simple. </p> <p>I am a creative. A brown, queer, creative. And creativity to me is like getting CPR in a world that's struggling for air.</p> <p>I am a beautiful short loser. But hey, I am a loser on a winning streak. </p> <p>I am my parents' dream come true. Who dreamed beyond their means and gave me the best possible education. </p> <p>I am a brown gay man who's grown up in a straight world. I've been called a lot of offensive names. My favorite of the lot? Creative. </p> <p>But mostly, I am a thief. </p> <p>I've been stealing opportunities that weren't meant for me. </p> <p>I've been picking locks of rooms that do not allow entry to people of my skin, or my kin. </p> <p>I've come a long way from where I started. But I am just getting started. </p> <p>And I am here to steal more. From you, from the world, from every room that won't let me in. </p> <p>Cos my story isn't shaped by gatekeepers of culture.</p> <p>My story is the very thing that shapes culture. </p> <p>It shapes the work I've done. It shapes the ideas I've pitched. </p> <p>It shapes brainstorm sessions that I am a part of and the ideas that I help bring alive. </p> <p>I am here, I am queer, I am ready to roar. </p> <p>My pronouns are he/him, I am ready to steal more.</p>
