<p>Mirella Lopez brings over eight years of expertise in communications and journalism to her role as an Assistant Account Executive. Currently positioned at FleishmanHillard, Lopez focuses on internal communications for the Office of the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, where she has significantly amplified DE&I narratives and devised strategic plans to foster workplace inclusivity. Since joining FleishmanHillard in 2021 as an Alfred Fleishman Diversity Fellow, where she worked with top tech clients based in San Francisco, she has played a pivotal role in advancing DE&I initiatives across the global network.</p> <p> </p> <p>Prior to her tenure at FleishmanHillard, Lopez served as the Communications Representative for Goodwill Industries of San Diego County, where she adeptly managed media relations, crafted social media strategies, and contributed to internal and external communications efforts. Notably, she gained proficiency in designing accessible media for individuals with disabilities.</p> <p> </p> <p>Lopez's journey in communications also encompasses a distinguished five-year tenure as an award-winning multimedia journalist, honing her skills in writing, photography, videography, and copy-editing. During this period, she garnered recognition at the collegiate level for her insightful articles and broadcast packages, which delved into topics such as U.S.-Mexico border relations, community activism, and raising awareness about campus sexual assaults.</p> <p> </p> <p>She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with a focus on public relations from San Diego State University, where she laid the foundation for her accomplished career.</p>
