<p>I am the founder of Map Happy, a digital media company that has provided more than eight million travelers with the tools they need to thrive to and through their destination. <br><br>The site has received the highest levels of industry recognition, winning the Society of American Travel Writers' Lowell Thomas Awards bronze for Best Travel Journalism Website. <br><br>I have also spoken at premier industry events and institutions such as The New York Times Travel Show, Consumer Electronics Show, and Columbia Journalism School, on the business of media, and the role and importance of diversity in media. <br><br>I began my career as a writer and editor for Gawker and The Awl network.
