About

The most powerful stories aren't just told–they are uncovered. When I first started researching and sourcing archival material for a documentary on Black anthropologist Ellen Irene Diggs, I discovered a legacy threatened by erasure. I found a love and admiration for crafting and exploring untold stories otherwise lost to time.

Storytelling has been a guiding force in my life, especially as a Woman of color navigating spaces where my voice and experiences aren't always represented. When I reflect on what brought me on this journey to media production, four words come to mind, "I'm awkward–and Black." This phrase, spoken by writer/producer Issa Rae, affirmed my place in the world and showed me that I can create stories for myself and others in the spaces I don't see. Storytelling has been the glue that has held me together in my life's darkest moments, and I plan to utilize it as a beacon of hope for young girls like myself.
