About
<p dir="ltr">I’ve always found myself at the crossroads of different creative disciplines, drawn to how design shapes our world at every level. From architecture, where a simple idea can take form and exist in space, to illustration, where an image can resonate deeply with its viewers, my work is about making impactful connections. I’m conscious of how these creations impact their environments and the people who experience them. My practice is rooted in telling stories that often go untold—centering Blackness, tenderness, and the everyday moments that make us who we are. I’ve seen firsthand how representation can impact people. My illustrations have given individuals who have never seen themselves reflected in art a sense of visibility and validation. And through architecture, I’ve been able to create spaces that imagine futures and present realities where Black and Brown people are celebrated in all our complexity. This mission aligns perfectly with what CC:DC is doing—placing Black people and individuals from marginalized groups into spaces like the Cannes Lions Festival, where their voices can resonate on a global stage. CC:DC’s commitment to diversity and inclusion mirrors my own efforts to elevate and celebrate those who have historically been underrepresented. Together, we amplify these voices, creating a platform where they can be seen, heard and empowered.</p> <p dir="ltr">Born in Lagos and now based in Brooklyn, my creative journey has always been about more than just design—it’s about building spaces for connection, storytelling, and community. Studying architecture, I discovered how thoughtful design shapes human experience, a passion I deepened through further exploration of spatial storytelling and material experimentation. But my creativity isn’t confined to traditional spaces; it thrives in the communities I build. That’s why I founded <em>Make Space</em>, a creative community that brings artists and makers together to experiment, collaborate, and grow. <em>Make Space</em> embodies my belief that design isn’t just about objects or spaces—it’s about the people who fill them. Beyond this, I work to decolonize architectural education and champion equity-driven design practices as a Board Director at Ubuntu Education. Whether through spatial design, community engagement, or storytelling, my work is about making space—for ideas, for people, and for creativity to flourish.</p> <p dir="ltr">My work invites us to pause, create, and reflect, encouraging a more inclusive view of the world and our place within it. As a CC:DC Ambassador, I’m excited about the opportunity to be part of a program that aligns so closely with my values. I see this role as more than a stepping stone—it’s a chance to contribute to a movement that champions diversity and inclusion in the creative world. I want to help shape the program’s future, ensuring it continues to open doors and inspire others to dream bigger. I look forward to engaging with CC:DC beyond the ambassadorship, contributing to initiatives that uplift underrepresented voices. Through mentorship and collaboration, I hope to foster a community where creativity thrives, and everyone feels valued.</p>
