About
<p>My career has been shaped by three C’s: communication, culture, and community. These pillars fuel how I move through the world, allowing me to embrace a path that’s anything but linear. My biggest advantage? Never boxing myself in. I was a multi-hyphenate before it was a necessity, thriving at the intersection of strategy and creativity. I live by the mantra, <em>“A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one,”</em> and it has made my career dynamic, impactful, and ever-evolving. And truthfully, I’m just getting started.</p> <p> </p> <p>Growing up in Southeast DC, I never imagined half the experiences I’ve had. From working my first BET Awards red carpet at 19 to leading global DEI programming at Edelman, my career has been a journey of continuous growth. Over the past five years, I’ve built global initiatives, refined communications strategies, and advised leadership through high-stakes moments. My work has taken me across industries and continents. In early 2024, I spent over a month in Johannesburg, South Africa, pushing myself to see the world and my work from a new perspective.</p> <p> </p> <p>I started in media and PR, moving between the creative and strategic sides of the industry focused on tech, entertainment, public affairs and crisis communications. When I pivoted into DEI in 2018, it wasn’t just about career growth. I wanted to create space for others like me. Little did I know how much the world, and DEI itself, would shift in the years to come. It continues to be a whirlwind of conflict, consciousness, and culture that is constantly evolving.</p> <p> </p> <p>Outside of work, I stay deeply connected to my community. I've mentored young girls through cheerleading, collaborated with brands like Broccoli City and Kinship Advisors to drive social impact in music and sports, and support my church. I also love helping friends bring their creative visions to life, whether that means acting in their projects or being a sounding board for their ideas. Writing is another passion of mine, including scripts, poetry, anything that allows me to tell meaningful stories. And when I’m not doing any of that, I’m probably somewhere unwinding with my cat.</p> <p> </p> <p>At my core, I’m a storyteller, a builder, and a connector. I thrive in spaces where culture meets strategy, where creativity sparks change, and building intentional community where real impact happens. My journey is still unfolding, but one thing is certain: I’m going to make it count.</p>
