About
<p>My name is Afreka Ebanks and I am a creative strategist and marketer located in New York City. At the University of Florida, I studied public relations with an emphasis on brand development and strategy. Since then, I moved to New York City to work for a Gen Z founded and led company known as JUV Consulting. At JUV, I was an account director where I lead some of our biggest client projects by practicing organization and growing my problem solving skills to handle the level of responsibility the clients demanded. I have worked on social media strategies & campaigns, content creation and production, creative strategy, influencer events and developing insights to assist brands with connecting with young, diverse audiences. Some brands I have worked with include: META, Instagram, e.l.f. Beauty, JanSport, Nike, KEYS SoulCare and others. </p> <p>While at JUV, I was also the brand & pr lead for ZCON--the first ever Gen Z speaker business conference--which launched in August 2023. As the brand & pr lead I managed our creative and design team and secured press in WWD, AdAge, TeenVogue etc. The conference was founded to foster intergenerational dialogue among some of the world's biggest CEOs, CMOs, exectuives and young people in the early stages of their careers to discuss the future of marketing, the economy, social media and other sectors/topics. With over 500+ attendees, sponsorship from Snapchat, Dove, e.l.f. Beauty and others we were able to flip the tradition of conferences on its head. </p> <p>As someone who is driven by curiosity about the world, it's people and cultures, I am constantly thinking of how everything connects and how to use those connections to foster connection between people. JUV has since been acquired by the United Talent Agency in 2024, and while my work remains mostly the same, I am even more motivated to inspire creativity in others in new and impactful ways. </p>
