About

From a young age I always knew my destiny was community. If there is one phrase to describe me, it'd be relationship-driven. I grew up with a family that encouraged me to voice my opinions regardless of my age and regardless of how those opinions may land. I learned the value of storytelling and diversifying perspectives by watching how words could be used to diffuse or ignite action. The power of storytelling and relationship building remained evident as I entered the workforce and began to carve out a space for myself in a world where words are currency. My journey within retail and consumer products marketing is simple yet complex and it has only just started.

I studied fashion design and merchandising at a college prep, magnet high school in Northern Jersey. The proximity to New York gave me access to all things fashion and fashion media promptly as the digital renaissance began to take over the retail space. At 15, I took digital media (high school focused) classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology where regular class speakers included the chief marketing officer of Bobbi Brown and directors at L’Oréal at the time. The privilege I experienced was not lost on me. I was keenly aware that no one else in my class looked like me. I also very much understood the sacrifices my family had to make to push my dream forward.

But this feeling of first, only, and different, didn't end there. I constantly occupy spaces where my presence comes off as unique. Throughout my college journey and into the workforce, I’ve been able to lean on that unique presence to make myself memorable and add value to any and every space. While interning at Elizabeth Arden & Revlon in London, my perspective was often different (for several reasons) and frequently requested. I learned the ins and outs of product marketing strategy and was even afforded the opportunity to plan and host an influencer outing for the European launch of Initio parfums. Fast forward to my time in digital media where I worked at both WarnerMedia and ABC Family as an integrated marketing strategy intern. Through these internships I continued to strengthen my storytelling skills, leading brainstorming sessions and continuing to lean on the data when attempting to speak to specific audiences. I developed detailed reports about our target audiences and scoured the internet for partnerships that now I can only describe as attempting to reach the Barbie effect. The marketing campaigns I worked on while at WarnerMedia consistently performed above benchmarks and set the tone for brand partnership strategy within the WarnerMedia team. But of course, I cannot take credit for that. It was through the leadership of my manager turned mentor that I and the team was able to excel in such ways. She poured into me in ways I had never experienced before and encouraged me to lean into the value I bring. Her mentorship has guided me all the way through my professional career.

And now, as I reflect on my how my career has progressed at Deloitte, it is very evident that I am a product of all the people and places that have influenced and molded me. While at Deloitte I’ve been promoted twice in less than three years and given the opportunity to lead on several team projects because of the way I show up on a day to day. The skills I’ve acquired through traditional and vocational schooling have undoubtedly set the foundation for my success so far, but I think most of my success comes from my willingness to be wrong and to learn. As an associate at Deloitte, my open mindedness on joining an accounting marketing team – Making Accounting Diverse and Equitable, exposed me to many sides of business that I otherwise would’ve missed. I also learned so much about what fundamental marketing skill looks like when attempting to market something that is otherwise deemed unsexy. A challenge that I rarely encountered prior to this team as most of my professional experiences were at companies and for teams that thrived from audience engagement and marketing activations. But my eyes never moved from the goal. Fashion and retailing have always been my north star, and when presented an opportunity join the Retail & Consumer Products team at Deloitte – I jumped at the bit. While on this team I’ve had the opportunity to lead our podcast, That Makes Cents, which interviews c-suite clients in the consumer industry about innovations and shifts in the industry. The podcast has become increasingly aligned to our firm and sector priorities and episodes are now being promoted in spaces like the Adobe Summit. I’ve facilitated client connections and developed marketing and creative strategy for our go-to-market campaigns. And recently joined a sustainability initiative as a lead marketer to bring together top retail and consumer product brands to discuss circularity and the process of implementing a circular economy in a profitable way.

The theme that threads through all my professional experiences is rooted in relationships. From maximizing my relationship with my stakeholders to taking inventory of my relationship with myself, my interest in becoming a CC:DC ambassador is reflective of this. And I hope we can build community together. Interested in learning more?
