About

Before Univision and Telemundo morphed into the influential media powerhouses that they are today, these brands were invisible to most of America. But not to Latino families like mine. In the early years after we immigrated to Miami from the Dominican Republic, it was a ritual to watch their news and entertainment shows.

Like many other immigrant families, we relied on them to find our sense of place in our new country. It's also how I discovered the power of storytelling and the value of building community and creating an emotional connection through media.

This love of media and storytelling took me to Washington D.C. to study journalism at The George Washington University and complete various internships, including at MSNBC, The Wall Street Journal, and press offices on Capitol Hill and the US Peace Corps. After graduating, I built a career as a journalist and news producer with full-time, staff roles at the CBS Stations in Chicago and Dallas, The Associated Press, The Washington Post, and POLITICO.

Although I remain a news junkie, I decided to take what I love most about journalism and pivot to a career in marketing strategy and the business of media. Along the way, I completed my MBA at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and also founded InColorStock.com, an inclusive stock content site to help creatives of color monetize their work.
