My career has been shaped by a strong dedication to equity, representation, and impactful change. At the BBC, I have contributed both on-screen, on-air and behind the scenes to promote inclusion, ensuring that diverse voices are not only acknowledged but prioritised in storytelling, production and leadership roles. During my time at the John Lewis Partnership, I spearheaded the development of organisational design frameworks that integrate inclusion throughout the entire employee lifecycle and customer experience, turning policies into meaningful, lasting change. In addition to my professional endeavours, my commitment to volunteer work drives my mission for transformation. As a Trustee at the Sutton African and Caribbean Cultural Organisation, I champion initiatives that honour culture, empower communities, and forge pathways for future generations. Mentoring young individuals is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. I see how important it is to guide them through industries that were not designed with their needs in mind, ensuring they not only gain entry but also excel. However, there is still much work to be done. The creative industries continue to be unbalanced, with marginalised talent struggling for the platforms, funding and opportunities that should be readily available. I am determined to see this change, not in the distant future, but immediately. We must stop viewing inclusion as an afterthought and start embedding it at the heart of all our efforts.
