<p>Erica Johnson is a talented creative moonlighting as a media and communications manager (lol). In 2019, she graduated from American University in Washington, DC, with a MA in Strategic Communications and pursued a career in marketing after completing the Verizon Adfellows program. As part of her commitment to social justice, Erica volunteers with the National Lawyers Guild as a legal observer protecting protestors' First Amendment rights while actively leading the New York City mass defense committee. She's also been featured in the New York Times for her social justice work with the National Lawyers Guild.</p> <p>In 2020, she won the Google News Initiative fellowship. In addition to the T. Howard Foundation Scott Weiss fellowship for professional development. Erica is also an entrepreneur. She founded a first-of-its-kind media company that focuses on comedy and social justice. Before developing Sir Carter Carter (Majer News), she freelanced with The Washington Informer as a journalist and TV One as a digital content producer.</p> <p>In 2022, she completed Atlantic Theater’s Global Virtual Conservatory program and is currently developing a one-woman show and stand-up content for comedy clubs and theatres. She is part of Creative Ladder’s (a Ryan Reynolds company) inaugural mentorship class for 2023 as a mentee. </p>
