My favorite warm up? The one where we take turns saying “yes, and” with the intention of building upon each others’ sentences. Keeping a “yes, and” mentality empowered me to go from seeking opportunity to creating it for myself and others. Naturally, my career lends itself to this quite well as I track down content creators with stories to tell, matching them to the right brands and campaigns.</span></p> <p><strong id="docs-internal-guid-8f006dac-7fff-099f-8213-5e7729bc825d" style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: auto; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-weight: normal;"> </strong></p> <p dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.8; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; text-decoration: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A former professor of mine used to say, social media, at its core, is nothing more than the “people’s media,” which means there’s still bias in what and how things are presented. As someone who contributes to whose platforms are amplified, I view my line of work as a means to bring diverse and/or underrepresented voices to the forefront of social discourse, and even more reason to learn from the best on what it means to be a true advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in our industry and beyond.</span></p>
